It’s been a while since we did one of these.
We recently had cause for celebration as Unamusement Park made the news (finally!) after an intrepid ‘Park reader ranger stapled our flyer on race and crime to copies of City Arts magazine (promoting “Black Power”) in Seattle.
Deluded “anti-racist” and disingenuous white liberal (DWL) Dave “Black Power Is Fantastic” Segal of the Seattle Stranger leapt into action (“White Supremacist Tampers With City Arts’ Excerpt of Listen, Whitey!”), noting that
- celebrating black power and using racial slurs against white people is “fantastic,” whereas
- citing the government’s crime statistics is not just “racist propaganda” but actually “white supremacy.”
Hijinks and shenanigans promptly ensued in the comments. The clear-headed, open-minded, right-thinking individuals (or “racists,” as they’re usually known) were out in force, causing such a ruckus, they even lured the author himself (Dave “History You Can Dance To” Segal) out of his damp cave and well beyond the safety of his Fact-proof bubble, where he was blinded by their white-hot white racial consciousness, then squished by a well-aimed Fact. Huzzah!
To preserve the commenters’ heroics for all time, in case (as usual) the comments themselves get purged by revisionist “anti-racists” afraid of reality’s racial bias, I’ve decided — in lieu of composing an epic ballad — to reproduce the highlights here.
Just look at those science numbers
Race denialist Zebes here is probably misrepresenting the arguments of racial realists, but it’s quite possible he’s simply unable to understand them. Which is it, Zebes? Lying or just plain stupid? I will accept “both” as an answer.
Honestly, if you look at the science numbers, in nine out of ten cases if you give knives to as many black people as you do white people the black people are 50% more likely to be black with knives than the white people are in half the cases reported. If you round up, that’s scientifici proof that blacks are always wrong. It’s just facts, people.

Holy crap, this Dave Segal is an moron. So celebrating the black power movement is good clean fun, but citing racial crime statistics is evil? Now let’s see Dave and the rest of you geniuses disprove anything in the “white supremacist” flyer.

You’re confusing us with black people. White people have actual families and look after and raise their children, and pay for the costs of their children themselves. These statistics fail to impress the faithful because they are given as a symbolic threat; whereas only personal threat, if anything, can bring people around to the truth of race.

Consider this: what if the statistics were reversed, and it turned out that whites committed a disproportionate amount of crime against blacks? Think that wouldn’t be a major item to be trumpeted by DWL media?
When the Duke University “rape” case first emerged on the national scene, DWLs made a production about what this told us about “race” in America: that privileged white men could have their wicked way with black women. When the truth came out — that a black woman had lied about being “raped” — the story disappeared. But doesn’t this, by the same DWL “logic,” indicate that a black woman has more power than white men in America today? After all, she was not charged with filing a false claim of rape. And the race hustlers who supported her were not held accountable, either.
It comes back to your point, that DWLs are immersed in an ideological fantasy world. When confronted with a reality that challenges that fantasy, they can not deal with it.
I’ve worked for a few alt-weeklies, and I can tell you your perceptions are correct. Even today, there’s a certain authority that print publication conveys — but seeing these writers up close and personal really helps to clarify the unseemly reality. Printing pictures of the “journalists” does the job well, too. Just looking at them tells the story.
On the other hand, you’ve got to say that they exhibit a certain level of intelligence by maintaining their delusions, since this is what enables them to continue to get paid for writing their, you know, “cultural critiques.” They must be true believers. What seems obviously contradictory to others is somehow, to them, immediately and obviously sensible. But if you are in the club of correct-thinkers, you don’t need to defend this, you just indicate that you are in the club by utilizing clever rejoinders such as “eat shit.” Nothing else is necessary, because it’s not about communicating reasonably, just signifying that you’re in the proper community.
Great recap Unaschmoozed. These turkeys always run and hide when they face a little opposition to the conventional wisdom. And even when it’s me versus an entire message board, facts are never disputed. Like here, some greater complexity is referenced (though never extrapolated) and the rest of the “debate” is ad hominem attacks.

You mean 33% lesser chance. You fell for the classic statistical blunder. Your percentage is out of a different total than the original percentage so you need to adjust the figures accordingly. Let’s say the chance of a white person being a black person with a knife is 10 units, then the chance of a black person being a black person with a knife is 15 units (50% more). But to go back to the white person’s chance, you have to take off 33% (5 units), not 50% (7.5 units).

I think it goes further than that. I suspect Zebes is under the mistaken belief that ALL statistics in the world are just crazy and incomprehensible meaningless random jumbles of numbers and technobabble. The idea that other people can actually understand, gain insight from, and think logically about statistics probably never occurred to Zebes. I think Zebes honestly can’t see much difference between what Zebes posted and the flyer. So I’m going with the second option, I don’t think Zebes is a liar, but I think Zebes has an IQ below 100.
On the other hand, I don’t think Dave Segal is a “drooling idiot”. He might be, I haven’t read his other articles, but there are many other factors that can make someone as stubbornly and recklessly incorrect as he is on the topic of race. The level of bias, and censorship of information, he has to overcome to reach the right answers is quite extreme, so we wouldn’t expect him to get there the first time even if he was above (white) average intelligence.
Who is BlackPowerWhitePower? That guy needs a blog STAT! I wish I could remain as calm and collected when confronted by such sub-intellectual savages as liberals.

There is no need for such dispair. I used to be one of the faithful for a long time, as did many other people (I know from the survey on Stuff Black People Don’t Like). I was never personally threatened by black people (because I was only around a tiny number of black people, and the few were a select unrepresentative group). I just stumbled on some intelligence statistics one day, and the respect for logic and scientific statistics I was raised with outweighed the respect for black people I was raised with, so I looked into it and changed my views. I was fortunate enough from my days of faith to immediately recognise the political ramifications of this 1 standard deviation difference. I know there are other people the same.
If you can find a reasonably smart person who likes and understands science or statistics, no matter how far-left they are, they can be converted to race realism with calm reasoned arguments.

The Great White Serial Killer is always brought up in a sad attempt to make whites appear just as criminal as blacks. The assumption is that virtually all serial killers are white, but we now know that the biggest serial killer in the history of LA county was a black man who killed white women.
But even if Segal’s contention were true, the numbers are still insanely lopsided in favor of the rampant criminality of blacks. All the white serial killers combined couldn’t hope to match blacks for sheer body count. If whites culled blacks at the rate that blacks are currently culling whites, there would be no blacks left in this country.

This could be true and untrue at the same time.
Blacks are 12% of the population and make up 22% of the serial killers which shows the innate violence of the 12% but 22% is less than 51% so the majority could be formed by a grouping less likely to produce a serial killer.

This notion of being owed something had infected all areas of their lives, with disastrous consequences. The benefits received were not earned in any usual sense of the word. Certainly no personal labor had been exchanged for the wealth received. This in turn affected their respect for private property. If they saw something they wanted, they took it. From their point of view, this made perfect sense. If they were entitled to or owed benefits from the government without any work being exchanged, then why should they bother to work for any of their possessions? The concept of ownership implies that something, usually work, has been exchanged for the created or transferred wealth. How could these young people be convinced of the immorality of stealing when everyday they received wealth (government benefits) they had not earned? In other words, if they were owed item A (benefits) without the exchange of labor, then why were they not also owed item B (another individual’s shoes or jacket)?
Of course, personal responsibility and having a future time preference is racist.
Okay, here’s my comment on Dave Segal.

There is one concession I’d like to make to Seattle’s black population…
They do have a genuine black Super Hero patrolling the streets at night and fighting crime, for no money, in his free time. Without being a genetically engineered X5 super soldier, or a glittering vampire, or having any super powers.
I’ve said that black people should take responsibility for their high crime rates and work to stop it rather than calling people who point out the problem racist.
But one black guy has actually done that, and I salute him for it, and I’m ashamed it wasn’t a white guy (although it’s mostly white people who have joined him).
But one man can’t undo the damage done by a large black criminal class, and merely represents the extreme tail end of a normal distribution with an average closer to misbehaviour.

Normally I post on here, SBPDL.com, and amren.com just as “Anonymous”. I’m a bit shy for blogging. And I’d need to work out how to do it without ending up in jail or unemployed.
Some thoughts on D. Segal’s rant:
White supremacists:
Note how he starts this with a label: “White supremacists.” Nothing in the flyer states this is about white supremacy. Just as (il)logically, the flyer could be providing evidence of black supremacy, since the more violent groups historically have dominated the less violent.
…instead, you feel the need to brandish stats that show blacks commit more crimes than whites (with no acknowledgment of the underlying causes for those stats),
The cause of the stats is the high rate of black violent crime.
Turn this around. Supposing the stats demonstrated that whites committed a higher proportion of crimes, and also committed the majority of inter-racial crime. Think that D. Segal and his comrades would not be trumpeting this as evidence of “racism?” Of course he would. Look at how the DWL media played the Duke U Trio case as evidence of “racism” (until it blew up in their faces).
… and then wear those numbers like some kind of badge of pride. “SEE?! SEE?! BLACKS ARE INNATELY INFERIOR!”
Why is this a conclusion from the flyer?
(Oddly enough, D. Segal seems to be making the white supremacist argument insofar as he is making the claim for black inferiority.)
2. What is pure white culture and why is it so all-fired precious to you? I’m genuinely curious.
If he is so curious about comparative culture, then perhaps he should spend a year in Congo or Haiti or Detroit, and then a year in New Zealand or Iceland or Salt Lake City. Then come back and report on his experiences.
3. The majority of American serial killers and white-collar criminals are white.
Except that this point is promoted by DWL media and the government. Consider how the government is prosecuting various firms for “discrimination” on any number of counts to the point of making up crimes such as “predatory lending.” And look at how the DWL media pushes any evidence of white-on-black crime (Rodney King incident, Duke U Trio, etc.).
In any event, the point of the flyer is that blacks commit these crimes disproportionate to their numbers. Another point to consider is the crime rates in black majority countries and then compare them to those in the rest of the world.
5. How are you guys doing with that propagation of the pure white race thing?
This is a meme which shows up frequently in multicultist “arguments,” a line which appears to be some sort of personal commentary: i.e., presumably, manly men like D. Segal are gettin’ it on with the babes while “white supremacists” lack female companionship. Of course, one might note that the measure of manliness (or womanliness) is not the approval of the opposite sex, but being faithful unto oneself.
Overall, D. Segal probably for the first time in his life encountered a rational argument and rather than engaging in AG Holder’s “dialog,” flipped out and went over the deep end.

This reminds of a story about a friend of mine. During a law school class the professor gave some basic information about some cases and asked the students to respond about how they would sentence the accused in each case. The professor never mentioned anything about race – just some socioeconomic info about the accused and prior convictions. My friend’s answer for the accused who came from the disadvantaged background and had a history of criminal convictions was for a longer and stricter jail sentence. A White liberal chick (WLC) in the class scoffed and said the only reason that my friend would give the harsher sentence was because the accused was obviously black. When my friend responded that neither he or the professor mentioned anything about race and that the history of the accused could pertain to any race and that she was the only one that saw or mentioned race with regard to the case it caused a backlash from the rest of the class towards the WLC.
I think it is text-book example of projection.
Clearly, these two self-hating whites lack significant experience with diversity. I can predict, with almost 100 percent accuracy, the bulk of their experience with multiculturalism(restaurants don’t count), and with Negroids specifically, was(and continues to be) manufactured for them through the entertainment media, NOT personal contact.
I believe most people, regardless of race, who have spent any significant length of time around blacks, by choice or necessity, do not retain high opinions of them.
That’s not to say there are no decent blacks … however, by-and-large, they’re not a desirable group of people to associate one’s self.

It just may be that the race realists are wrong in their own conclusions, but at least the race realists make an attempt to approach the situation rationally. The thing that is interesting is how white DWLs act in an irrational manner, as if they are living down to the worst white supremacist stereotype of what a black acts like.
