Jesse Jackson, Jr. is just full of great ideas

Last time we checked in with Jesse Jackson, Jr. (son of the hideous race-baiting demagogue Jesse Jackson and U.S. representative for Illinois’ 2nd congressional district, which he took over from the black convicted child molester Mel Reynolds), he was calling for the following “basic rights” to be added to the Constitution of the United States:
- “the right to a family to have a decent home. … What would that do for home construction in this nation?”
- “the right to medical care. … How many doctors would such a right create?”
- “the right to a decent education for every American. … How many people would be put to work… providing every student with an iPod and a laptop?”
(The answer to all of these questions is still, of course, you’re an idiot.)
Well, Rep. Jackson is back in the news, with another brilliant idea. From the Daily Caller (Oct. 12): “Jackson, Jr: Obama should ‘declare a national emergency,’ add jobs with ‘extra-constitutional’ action.”
Illinois Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. told The Daily Caller on Wednesday that congressional opposition to the American Jobs Act is akin to the Confederate “states in rebellion.”
Jackson called for full government employment of the 15 million unemployed and said that Obama should “declare a national emergency” and take “extra-constitutional” action “administratively” — without the approval of Congress — to tackle unemployment.
“I hope the president continues to exercise extraordinary constitutional means, based on the history of Congresses that have been in rebellion in the past,” Jackson said. “He’s looking administratively for ways to advance the causes of the American people, because this Congress is completely dysfunctional.”

“On several occasions now, we’ve seen… the Congress is in rebellion, determined, as Abraham Lincoln said, to wreck or ruin at all costs. …”
That’s funny, I guess I must have been asleep during the opening days of the great Congressional rebellion of 2011. Has there been much bloodshed yet? Have the Republicans taken to the streets? Is Capitol Hill aflame? Or have we not progressed to that stage yet?
Oh, well. Just a matter of time, as Rep. Jackson assures me there have already been several occasions when the 112th Congress has proved its determination to wreck or ruin the country at all costs. And he wouldn’t just say that. No one could be that stupid.
Tell us, Congressman Jackson — we’re dying to know — what, pray tell, will the Supreme Emperor For Life, His Royal Highness Barack “Extra-Constitutional” Obama, do to solve the unemployment problem, once democracy is suspended in these United States of America?
“… I believe… in the direct hiring of 15 million unemployed Americans at $40,000 a head, some more than $40,000, some less than $40,000 — that’s a $600 billion stimulus. It could be a five-year program. For another $104 billion, we bailout all of the states … for another $100 billion, we bailout all of the cities,” he said.
At last we have it! Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s bold new comprehensive plan for fixing unemployment: just give everyone a job, already! Come on, guys. GEEZ.
Jackson acknowledged there might be difficulties — no, not the fact that he might as well have suggested we solve world hunger by feeding everybody, or solve the energy crisis by getting more power. It’s the Republicans, who are just so evil and greedy and racist, they won’t do anything to help when there are black people without jobs and it just makes him so angry and WAAAAAAA —
“… Clearly, Republicans are not going to be for it but if the administration can handle administratively what can be done, we should pursue it. And if there are extra-constitutional opportunities that allow the president administratively to put the people to work, he should pursue every single one of them,” Jackson suggested.
The Blaze (Oct. 13) has more: “Jesse Jackson Jr. Calls for Obama to Take ‘Extraordinary Constitutional’ Action on Unemployment.” “File this one under ‘bizarre’,” they suggest, and connect Jackson’s developing dictatorial streak to a recent curious remark by the President: “We’re not going to wait for Congress.”
Back at the Daily Caller, comment section hilarity ensues, as it so often does these days. People really are waking up.

Hi there, stupid white-hating black person! Let me explain something to you about jobs.
You see, the government can’t just create meaningful work, or the motivation to do it, out of thin air. I know that you, like most black people, have an unshakable faith in the limitless power of government (which may be part of the reason why the government treats you like children), but the truth is, the government is stupid (see: Jesse Jackson, Jr.). Plus, the salaries for what jobs they do manage to slap together — and the bill for the wasteful spending associated with every government program ever — are paid for by the taxes of people (mostly white) working actual jobs. Furthermore — oh, you’ve gone and joined a flash mob.

That’s not all Lincoln said. Addressing an audience of Jesse Jackson Jr.’s co-ethnics in 1862:
“You and we are different races. We have between us a broader difference than exists between almost any other two races. Whether it is right or wrong I need not discuss, but this physical difference is a great disadvantage to us both, as I think your race suffer very greatly, many of them living among us, while ours suffer from your presence. In a word we suffer on each side. If this is admitted, it affords a reason at least why we should be separated.”
Why? He may have independently come to the same conclusion as Thomas Jefferson 80 years earlier:
“In general, their existence appears to participate more of sensation than reflection. . . Comparing them by their faculties of memory, reason, and imagination, it appears to me, that in memory they are equal to the whites; in reason much inferior, as I think one [black] could scarcely be found capable of tracing and comprehending the investigations of Euclid; and that in imagination they are dull, tasteless, and anomalous.”
But Jesse’s in good historical company. Afro-Americans and politics, according to Thomas Nelson Page, 1904:
“Such men will testify that within their own knowledge there have been hordes of negroes appointed to Federal positions in the customs service who were not only lacking in mental and moral fitness, but were so ignorant of common business affairs that, when named as collectors of ports or postmasters, they invariably required the clerical assistance of a white man to conduct their business for them. We have no knowledge of a single negro official at the head of either branch of the government service above named who, unaided, is capable of discharging his public functions aright.”

Another point to be considered is that the USA is broke/bankrupt/bust. The money just ain’t there. And the industrial base which might have once been kicked started into production via Keynesian economics has been dismantled.
A right to education? Do I have to point out the collapse of the school system in this country? And what good will handing out more electronic gizmos do for people who lack the capacity or desire to learn?
As for home construction, correct me if I am wrong, but cities such as Detroit have plenty of surplus houses on the market. But it seems for some bizarre reason no one is buying them.

Ha ha, it would be incredibly funny if the Federal did create jobs (not the meaningful kind, the *ahem* other kind). We’re talking about lining up “African Americans” (blacks) and paying them in “US dollars” (company scrip, of constantly declining value) to work on “shovel-ready infrastructure programs” (breaking rocks in the hot sun) while housing them in “lightweight mobile habitat modules” (tent cities) so that they would be “sheltered from the lifestyles that pose a risk to youth” (kept away from upper-middle class neighborhoods) and have a chance to spend their income “on amenities and entertainment provided by the winners of competitive Federal contracts” (at the company store).
In other words, it’s a mid-20th Century blues song in the making. If it ever goes into effect (I doubt it), Jackson’s role will be forgotten and the whole thing, in retrospect, will be as much a conspiracy of evil racist whites as was the desegregated army (“sending blacks to die in a white man’s war”) and housing projects (“prisons for the poor”) and conventionally high standards for public education (“damaging the self-esteem of urban youth by imposing a strange, white way of thinking”).
The left both disguises and promotes itself by constantly making so much bad policy that it always has something obviously stupid, and subtly leftist, to “critique”. It is absolute GENIUS.
Long story made short:
The money for government jobs comes from people. Those people now have less money than they used to, so they spend less. That causes the places where these people used to spend money to fire their own employees.

I posted on this over at SBPDL on October 13; it was mentioned at Ace and from there linked to the Daily Caller. I’m amazed no one else has picked up on this or posted on this. It is in line with Bev Purdue’s earlier statement that we need to suspend elections until Congress can get things under control. Chris Matthews, too, called for “radical measures” (posted by Ace right after he posted about JJJr). I’ve gone out on a limb and said this before, and I regret to say I still believe it. D’Won will never leave the White House (or as I recently saw elsewhere, the Halfrican House) willingly. The OWSers are funded by and in many ways linked to Soros and the White House; their increasingly violent and anti-American protests could well be the first of many incidents planned prior to the declaration of a national emergency requiring “extraordinary” or “radical” measures. All the faux-conservatives salivating over Obama’s loss (which they’ve declared a fait accompli) are assuming the paradigm didn’t change in 2008. They seem to have forgotten, once you go black, you can’t go back. Call me a nut or a conspiracy theorist; I’ve been paying attention to what they’re saying and they always telegraph their moves ahead of time.

There is not much worse than walking down the street and hearing some moron talking over a monotonous drone. It seems Blacks most creative musical period-the age of blues and jazz-were during a time when Whites were in complete control of our civilization. Maybe this encouraged actual creative power with the African’s natural rythmic abilities. Now, freed by the Marxists and other wreckers from any constraint, their natural inclination to produce trash returns.

People are right on when they say most blacks simply don’t get it, can’t comprehend how the US came to be great. They really think jobs are created by fiat, and not driven by a need. The idea that taxes from an actual job are what prop up gvt salaries is an idea that is out of their league of comprehension. It’s “racism”, the eternal back meal ticket.
Like most blacks he uses Lincoln way out of context (as has already been pointed out) and embarrasses himself, but he’s in good standing with his leftist masters, so he gets a pass and no one calls him out on his errors.
Also note that the calls for suspending the constitution to create a dictatorship constantly come from the left. The same people who scream “fascist” at their opponents are actually master fascists.
Mob Rule at the University of Wisconsin But Anti-Israel Protestors Convicted for Disrupting Speech

Yet another example of the intolerance of the left was enacted at the University of Wisconsin when a mob shut down a press conference put on by the Center for Equal Opportunity (“Studies Show Severe Racial Discrimination at University of Wisconsin,” by John Anderson, Youth for Western Civilization). This is a truly amazing example of the power of the left to shut down public debate when the interests of Whites are being compromised. Demonstrators knocked down employees of the hotel and shouted down the speaker to the point that he simply left.

Damon Williams
The video shows Damon Williams, Vice Provost, Chief Officer for Diversity & Climate [!] at University of Wisconsin-Madison egging on the students by chanting and pumping his fist. Officially sanctioned disruption of free speech.
The issue at the University of Wisconsin (my alma mater) is that the highest-scoring Blacks and Latinos score below the lowest quartile of Whites and Asians. As the YWC article notes,
The odds ratio favoring African Americans and Hispanics over whites was 576-to-1 and 504-to-1, respectively, using the SAT and class rank while controlling for other factors. Thus, the median composite SAT score for black admittees was 150 points lower than for whites and Asians, and the Latino median SAT score was 100 points lower. Using the ACT, the odds ratios climbed to 1330-to-1 and 1494-to-1, respectively, for African Americans and Hispanics over whites.
For law school admissions, the racial discrimination found was also severe, with the weight given to ethnicity much greater than given to, for example, Wisconsin residency. Thus, an out-of-state black applicant with grades and LSAT scores at the median for that group would have had a 7 out 10 chance of admission and an out-of-state Hispanic a 1 out of 3 chance—but an in-state Asian with those grades and scores had a 1 out of 6 chance and an in-state white only a 1 out of 10 chance.
A “shovel-ready job” means laying asphalt. That’s it.
Of course, where will you find most black construction workers and companies? In asphalt and in trucking. That’s it.
There are so many traffic problems that need to be addressed by an engineer–that need to have a design phase. But Obama’s stimulus refused to cover construction design.
And no wonder, since that would have done squat for black companies and black construction workers.
I used to think this kind of thinking was absurd too. Back when we had $200 Billion deficits, the thought of spending another 100 billion for a (Crack) pipe dream was a non-starter. But now that we can waste over a trillion and a half every year in deficit spending alone and without even passing a budget, it seems obvious that I was wrong. There is evidently plenty of money. And if we run out, we’ll just get more. There is always more where that came from. After all, that is what “more” means.

The reason no leftist would ever call Jackson out for his egregious cherry-picking from Lincoln’s words is the fact that leftists always tend to worship Lincoln, and to worship him for all the wrong reasons. Race realism pervades nearly all of Lincoln’s early letters, writings, and speeches, up until the point when it became politically convenient to adopt abolitionism as a cause. Then he suddenly lurched into all sorts of incoherent and contradictory statements about the races, but his true feelings are inescapable upon an honest examination of the earlier writings, and honest reflection on the point of the Civil War, namely statism. Lincoln was demonstrably leftist himself, but the difference between a nineteenth-century leftist and one from our own age is vast: back then, even leftists knew the score on natural racial differences, and commented on those differences as unapologetically as the most reactionary KKK member. To put it another way, not even Marxists believed in racial egalitarianism back then; indeed, Marx’s writings are themselves laced with race realism. Oh for those long-ago days when just about everyone was united in agreeing with commonsense notions of racial difference.

It’s not the worst idea I’ve ever heard. The financial industry got faaarrrr more than 600 billion in tax money. There’s no reason we couldn’t have tried a bottom-to-top approach instead.
Number 2 is funny. The reason we don’t have a world class healthcare system is because we haven’t legally decreed that one shall exist.
